As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.
Being in the middle of nowhere Brier Patch, we are getting shorted on our supplies by the big distributors pushing shit they ave paid off to put on the shelves which no one wants. We used to have a big dollar section in the store. You could buy everything from Indian cookies to spices that came out of no one knew where for a dollar. We stocked up on those as 4 dollar jar of spices are budget breaking, but now we have enough till Jesus comes back.
In stocking up on things, I started picking up dollar bags of Indian Jasmine and I think it is Vietnamese white rice. They are both good quality and we do not get sick from them. I actually just tried this par boiled stuff today while mowing lawn and doing the cooking prep, and this stuff turned out pretty good.
I like rice, flavored rice, better than potatoes or bread. I thought I would share as 2 cups of rice boiled up makes a number of filler starches for meals.
It is just 2 cups rice
4 cups water
As I had at arms reach pink sea salt, I used a tsp of that.
3 to 4 tablespoons of chicken boullion.
2 tablespoons poultry seasoning
1 teaspoon parsley
1 tsp onion powder.
Just bring to a boil, 20 minutes partially covered, let set off the burner to not turn into a lump of rice and you got after this a mild addition to meat. We had leftover BBQ smoked chicken breasts which the Holy Ghost Inspired on, as they were like 7 bucks for a bag of 7 breasts or 6. We BBQ'd them as Richard and Stephanie do and they are heaven. They taste as good warmed up as fresh. That does not happen with leftovers, but this junkyard grill we got from JYG is really turning out to be a wonder in some charcoal, some apple wood and voila by God's Grace you get ambrosia.
This just makes a nice side dish, and with this we had fruit for the vegetable and it is a quick meal as I hate cooking after I'm tired and having things around that taste good makes crappy life so much better.
