Give us this day our daily Bread

As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.

The Fourth Petition and first human need request in the Lord's Prayer which Jesus taught, is give us this day our daily bread.

Bread is not foot alone, but an all encompassing word, for Jesus is the Bread of Life, and bread is life and the basis for all food. What Jesus spoke of was far encompassing, as He was praying for both Spiritual and physical needs being fulfilled by God.
It is an error to say, that we are to wait around and do nothing as God will rain manna from heaven. There is an idea in BREAD, which also can convey, help us to do our job with good health and honesty, so we can earn money to  purchase the food we need.

God is a loving God. He knows very well that most of you if you were rich, would get fat, lazy and become like most rich people in handing out crumbs to the dogs and Lazarus as you bought your fine sheets and lived in your second homes.
Bread is the nurturing ability to keep you growing in Spirit by providing the Christian with a set of objectives in life to keep on the straight and narrow. Do not think because  you live in a trailer park that you are not ministering to someone. Someone in that park is watching you in all of your trials and is being inspired or convicted that you are not becoming more welfare trash, but you are remaining Christian. That too is daily bread in you are feeding someone else by your  example.

God knows all what we need, and He also knows when we are not able to pay bills and hungry. I sit here typing this not in Walmart wealthy, but about $5.50 cents of thrift store clothes. Not a day goes by that I am not clothed in throw aways. Most of what I wear is the 25 cent quarter sale. It would be cheaper, but I wore out most of my throw away patched pants I get for free.
God does provide. I witness it time and again. He has a reason for me being homeless and miserable, but no matter my situation, that does  not give me an excuse for not finding a way to keep posting things on these pages to bring God to those who will listen.

Matthew 6

28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

So we are to expect God to provide for us, while we behave ourselves, but we also are to work in whatever capacity God provides whether it be by example, a real job or begging for donations. Work provides discipline and dignity to the person.

Genesis 3:19

In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

Somewhere in this freebie thought and this slaving away is the correct daily bread, and David expressed it perfectly in the 23rd Psalm. We are always helpless like livestock in this world, even those with million dollar portfolios, for even the rich are looking for validation and are the most frightened of all in poverty which most of us deal with daily and none of us die from fright, because God does care for us.

 Psalm 23:

1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Humans like God's animals, all are provided for. That does include those who sit in huts and  Americans think they can make pets out of them. Being a Christian is something worked at in Spiritual bread, just like there is a requirement to going out and gathering in the 3rd world to lay up a store for those things as food and clothing, which are things we are to go out and earn if at all possible.

I Timothy 6:8

And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

We though pray, police ourselves in the 10 Commandments, and look to God to improve our situations. That is what daily Bread is too. Just because you have a hopeless situation, there is hope in the Lord, and you keep looking and your situation will improve, with each step God provides for you.

Psalm 145

15 The eyes of all wait upon thee; and thou givest them their meat in due season.
16 Thou openest thine hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing.

It is work for a job, it is work for Faith. Believing God for a better outcome is harder for most than going to a job and earning a wage. Neither are exclusive, but all are inclusive in  the Spiritual and physical bread are both from the same God, and both empower a certain feature inside a person for the other type of bread.

II Thessalonians  3:10

For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat. '

This is the 4th Petition. It is an entire community who is not in anarchy endangering what you worked for. It is honest leaders and even a good night's sleep. People require so very much every day, and most never stop to thank God or consider all the details He is involved with. All we ever notice and bitch about are the big things we just have to have, but the reality is we are not going to remember the moment that we die, that we didn't buy Coke stocks, didn't get that house we wanted, didn't get that fishing rod, didn't make that one last accomplishment. The world passes away and it is a Bread too, a womb of earth birthing a Spiritual soul of you, to a higher reality as a child of God.

The Fourth Petition

Give us this day our daily bread.

What does this mean? God certainly gives daily bread to everyone without our prayers, even to all evil people, but we pray in this petition that God would lead us to realize this and to receive our daily bread with thanksgiving.
What is meant by daily bread? Daily bread includes everything that has to do with the support and needs of the body, such as food, drink, clothing, shoes, house, home, land, animals, money, goods, a devout husband or wife, devout children, devout workers, devout and faithful rulers, good government, good weather, peace, health, self-control, good reputation, good friends, faithful neighbors, and the like.

I offer this one last lesson on Daily Bread. When asking God for things, place first in your mind ways that what you are asking for will assist you to God's work through you, instead of lusting and indulging of what you are going to do with that new toy, before you move onto something else to demand God of.

I confess to God as He  already knows, that a home would make the work He accomplishes through me more easy in allowing me more time to focus on Him, and not begging for donations. Whatever God deems is my Daily Bread though is what I accept. He already has a plan that I am unaware. That is the important petition in this in God knows, you ask and He provides for you. It is all daily bread, and nothing is too extravagant or too small to not be included.

Just remember your daily bread is between God's Kingdom coming to you, God's Will being accomplished and followed by the next petition in you treating others,  in having God deal with wrongs against you, as you would have them treat you.
Your bread is between the Kingdom of Spirit and your being on earth not seeking hell on earth for all those who have wronged you. That is God's Judgment. You reflect Him in your daily bread in Spirit as God is fully capable of avenging you with your conscience clear.
