With the termination of deep state Jeff Sessions, a new reality appeared with the temporary appointment of the Chief of Staff at Justice as Mr. Trump hinted at a long term replacement was coming. That replacement is former Attorney General William Barr. To cut through the crap, if Donald Trump wants him, and John Kelly runs the White House, William Barr is as are most Kelly advancements a DIA operative. Barr is Defense Intelligence.
He has been planting stories in the press, the CIA New York Times defending the Trump position and advocating the investigation of the Clintons. That translates as Hillary is the suspected nominee and it would be fortunate to ruin her politically by bringing the House of Justice down upon her and her husband.
If you want to understand the depths of William Barr, you will look at the waves that James Comey was making, and refusing to testify, in thinking he was in charge with his cronies yet led by John Brenana. Barr though targeted Comey.

James Comey though backed down and then took the 5th time and again in closed door testimony. The grandstanding was gone, as Comey is protecting himself now from prosecution, and that prosecutor is going to be pushed by William Barr, and if Comey blinked, the other skirt on the radar screen in Hillary Clinton means a swathe of investigations is opening up on Bill and Hillary Clinton.

Barr moved on to serve in the Bill Casey Reagan White House.
