As another Lame Cherry exclusive in matter anti matter.
From time to time I share what it is like to be me. Considering that American strategic nuclear bombers are now attempting to intimidate Russia, it reminds me of the CBS footage I saw of a documentary of what Americans were doing when man first walked on the moon.
No records remain in tact of what people were doing before Pearl Harbor. So this was my day/
My day began on Sunday when the GMC 1997 pick up, yes that is what we drive in 25 year old pick up started to make more noise than it has been off and on. That happens worst when it is cold. Cold is like in the teens to below zero.
So I told TL we have to take that thing in as I do not in below zero weather to have to deal with whatever is going on.
So on Monday, I did not call to make an appointment as just showing up was deemed better. I prayed about it and asked God to work it out. They were shorthanded, but the guy who makes the appointments got the mechanic out to listen to what the problem was. He had an engine stethoscope.
Of course it was almost 30 degrees so it was not making any noise. He told me to take a video of it and send it. I kind of Holy Ghost was moved to ask for a bit more, and as he moved things around with the engine off, it sort of made the sound. He was not looking to spend what money we have, but he figured it was the alternator, like 200 bucks.
I said to change it, and we left it there as the first appointment day was Wednesday morning.
So we got a loaner, icy roads it of course drifted and mom vans are not snow machines, but we got chores done if nothing else waiting on HAARP super cold bombs.
Wednesday morning I get a call. GMC is ........well in need of a bit more. I have not done anything to this pick up except tires, save last year. The business who had it, did nothing either. The diagnosis was the idler belt pulley was going out, the water pump was going out and of course, the alternator, oh and the belt too was bad. Guy said the tally was 600 dollars. I said to fix it, and he said they would get the parts and call me back.
They called back at around 11 AM, all done. So we drove in to get the GMC. He looked sheepish when he told me, he forgot to carry the ONE so it wsa 800 bucks plus change. Most people would have chewed ass. I am not most people as people make mistakes and if you chew ass this time, you are going to get special treatment next time in their not fixing things. When I go to this dealer, I get in and things get fixed, even if it is flat tire on Saturday afternoon late. I do not have to sign papers to get loaner either.
So I had put in 55 bucks of gas as loaners only have a quarter tank, so I filled it up, as I was not going to walk or get stuck and run out of gas. I ended up even after my Minot nuclear bombers extended drive home, to see if the roads were any good, only burned about 1/8th a tank of gas. They will see that and know I did that too.
The GMC runs lovely without grinding sounds that it has been making since late last summer. I thanked God, instead of bitching about the repair costs, for the reason I know God directs this life He has given me, and I figure this is like my teeth........something that better get fixed before there is no fixing or parts.
So I have a shiny now alternator, shiny new water pump, shiny new belt tightener and shiny new flat belt. I have new antifreeze at 50 bucks. I keep the GMC plugged in with a block heater to save the engine. Never could figure my brother out in no block heater to warm the engine up. Cold starts on 50,000 dollar vehicles wears engines out. For about 20 bucks a month, I save my engine. This year has been really cold, so it stays plugged in 24 hours a day. Otherwise when it gets to the 30's I just plug her in when I get up and in a few hours she is warm enough to get the oil flowing so no cold wear start ups.
I hope you non donors paid attention to that bit of advice. Get a tank or block heater as it makes the difference between an engine which will not start to one which will in severe cold.
So in a 40 mph northwest wind we did the walk up Granpas driveway, only slid across the ice parking lot which was displeasing with traffic coming and 50,000 dollar vehicles littering my way, and God got half the mountain of problems removed. I thank God for that.
God home, built a fire in the cellar stove and house is snug. Will have to burn for an extended time this coming week which displeases me as I covet our wood we have cut, but I need to keep things warm.
Just have to have Holy Angels help in my injury and crank a big round bale by hand into feeding the cattle, between storms and then just focus on the normal trek and tending fires daily until God delivers us warmth.
To live in the Brier, everything is an expedition. You have to be prepared with survival gear and have to plan your way, the best way you can around the weather which will kill if you are stupid. For most of you reading this, your lives are just doing things. You never check the weather as it does not matter, and you have nothing to do but get up, eat, shit, sit around pretending how smart you are and then going off to sleep again.
I do not much care for my world at the moment. The reality is, when the End Times really get hauling ass on your ass, my life here, that you left me in, is going to be your existence in spades, and you will have no Inspiration from God in how to deal with anything.
I read an obit of an oldster around here and they complimented him in how he came up with unique ways to solve things on his farm. JYG is like that and one of the many reasons I enjoy being around him. Most of you have no experience or practice in getting things done or preparing for anything. I just happened to be born to man who chewed my ass for not figuring things out as a kid and chewed my ass for figuring things out as it made me look smarter than him. I have to get shit done out of necessity because I do not have the money to solve things the way you pay for it to be solved now.
Just understand, what you thought was bad last year is going to be worse every year from this point on, until Christ returns. We have not hit the bad events yet.
This is the prelude to Ground Zero.
