When I'm Inspired for these Sabbath Day lessons, the Holy Ghost is good to me, in I usually write several months in advance a surplus as that is less stress one me to have a reserve of things to post. Today is March 5th, and I noticed I was running out of main feature stories for the blog and that the Sabbath reservoir was empty, so the Holy Ghost has been Inspiring me to write things with verses of the reckonnig which America, the people of the West, the land of Judah and the neighbors of our Israelite Peoples will face in what is coming.
In Jeremiah, the Prophet is praying to God and God is speaking back. It is a matter of the Prophet praying for the removal of evil, and God informing the Prophet that things are difficult in good times, so what do you think it will be in tribulation times.
There is a verse in this from God's speech which is interesting, as Southern Christians seized upon it, there is a Gospel song about the Great Speckled Bird. The thing is, there is a misunderstanding maybe in the translation, as it is been formed into a vulture, but the literal meaning from God might have been the Great Speckled Hyena.
Anyone who has been to Africa or has watched nature documentaries has seen the scene of a kill. The zerba or buffalo is on the ground, probably being eaten alive, the lions have their fill, and in the background there is the vultures, other birds, the hyenas and the jackals.
It is when the lions move off and the vultures pick the bones and the hyenas are cracking the bones for marrow that the two are contending, that is the context which God probably meant. It was not some great buzzard contending with other birds. That does not appear in the kill zone. Eagles are not a part of this scenario. This is hyenas and vultures contending over the carrion which is left.
Roy Acuff sings the song beautifully, and mysteriously, and it is a lovely vision of this great speckled bird, but the reality it might have been the hyena, a most dangerous and formidable animal.
The point in the verses by Jeremiah the Prophet is God is ordering the death of nations, the death of evil, and gathering the beasts to devour the nations. In this instance, the beast was Babylon and that empire was about to rip to shreds the western Middle East.

The Prosperity of the Wicked
1Righteous are You, O LORD,
when I plead before You.
Yet about Your judgments
I wish to contend with You:
Why does the way of the wicked prosper?
Why do all the faithless live at ease?
2You planted them, and they have taken root.
They have grown and produced fruit.
You are ever on their lips,
but far from their hearts.a
3But You know me, O LORD;
You see me and test my heart toward You.
Drag away the wicked like sheep to the slaughter
and set them apart for the day of carnage.
4How long will the land mourn
and the grass of every field be withered?
Because of the evil of its residents,
the animals and birds have been swept away,

“He cannot see what our end will be.”
God’s Answer to Jeremiah
5“If you have raced with men on foot
and they have worn you out,
how can you compete with horses?
If you stumble in a peaceful land,
how will you do in the thickets of the Jordan?
6Even your brothers—
your own father’s household—
even they have betrayed you;
even they have cried aloud against you.
Do not trust them,
though they speak well of you.
7I have forsaken My house;
I have abandoned My inheritance.
I have given the love of My life
into the hands of her enemies.
8My inheritance has become to Me
like a lion in the forest.
She has roared against Me;
9Is not My inheritance to Me
like a speckled bird of prey
with other birds of preyb circling against her?
Go, gather all the beasts of the field;
10Many shepherds have destroyed My vineyard;
they have trampled My plot of ground.
They have turned My pleasant field
11They have made it a desolation;
desolate before Me, it mourns.

A Message for Israel’s Neighbors
(Amos 1:1–15)14This is what the LORD says: “As for all My evil neighbors who attack the inheritance that I bequeathed to My people Israel, I am about to uproot them from their land, and I will uproot the house of Judah from among them. 15But after I have uprooted them, I will once again have compassion on them and return each one to his inheritance and to his land.
16And if they will diligently learn the ways of My people and swear by My name, saying, ‘As surely as the LORD lives’—just as they once taught My people to swear by Baal—then they will be established among My people. 17But if they will not obey, then I will uproot that nation; I will uproot it and destroy it, declares the LORD.”
The apostasy of the peoples of the West is absolute. Even Christians are filthy by the association with such rotten sin, as Lot was in Sodom. This all had to be rendered, threshed and reckoned with, before Christ returns for the great battle at Har Meggido. This filth, this persecution by the police state, this unbridled world violence will all have to perish as it did in the Days of Noah. I used to think Mad Max was some freak show, but if one looks at that movie, it is tame compared to the reality of what is promoted regime policies. The world is filled with murderous madness.
The Christian Protestant must prepare with Christ, even more than preparing with food and ammo.
