See goodness for the uber rich has to have a profit margin in it, so they get out of paying taxes, but their Buffett Foundations hide money, and then use that money to buy more  influence for themselves and their businesses

"Americans' record-breaking charitable giving in 2017 demonstrates that even in divisive times our commitment to philanthropy is solid," said Aggie Sweeney, chair of Giving USA Foundation, which publishes the annual report. It is researched and written by the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.
Giving increased to eight of the nine charitable sectors identified by Giving USA. The only decline was for areas related to international affairs.
The biggest increase was in giving to foundations — up 15.5 percent. That surge was driven by large gifts from major philanthropists to their own foundations — including $1 billion from Dell Technologies CEO Michael Dell and his wife, Susan, and $2 billion from Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan.

This is all a criminal RICO racket made legal by the frauds in Congress and was cemented into place by Gary Cohn. These charities and foundations then hire a group of family stooges who then hand out money to cronies who just happen to be related to politicians and cops. That is how 400 billion dollars corrupts thee entire American system.

Give em a Wallop

There is an interesting book which my friend Butch left to the world when he entered the great beyond which came into my possession for 80 cents, with the Anglo American title Sniper on the Eastern Front.

The back cover is filled with English hatred of Germans, but the inside is filled with the careful chronology of someone who actually liked this German Landser from World War II of the Reich. The artistic license of putting German thoughts into English is always a problem as the Anglo Saxons have a like mentality, there is not any way to convey the Deutsch, unless of course you were raised a German in the Americas in the immigrants there as you soon pick out phrases of Germans which are part of the American dialect.

"Give em a wallop"  to "That will put lead in your pencil" are all German and entered into the language from the American majority who were always Germanic Israelites.

In this, the Germans never referred to their snipers as snipers as that was an insult. They did not snipe at long ranges, but were in most instances under 300 meters. These were precision Marksmen among the Rifleman or the Infantry Landsers.

The principle Marksman  of SEF was interesting in how intelligent this particular 19 year old Austrian was, as he soon realized by day 5 in being wounded that he was going to die as a machine gunner, so discovering a Russian Nagant sniper rifle, he gained permission while recuperating to see if he could get out from behind that machine gun. He was good enough with the rifle to be moved from the lines to world of killing as a Scout. The Reich never had a word beyond Jager or Hunter, but in this case that is what he was in a Scout in thee American sense, in he hunted humans to save the lives of his comrades while scouting their positions for intelligence.

There was a Russian who had been killing German Landsers and the Marksman was called upon to end the nuisance, and not with a scope, but an open sighted 98 K Mauser at around 90 meters to the Russian lines, he had his boys lift a helmet above the trench, the Russian fired, giving away his position, and with the realization he had to kill this Russian, with the urging of this Landsers he killed the communist.

It was confirmed as the Germans stormed the trenches in the Russian panic, and discovered it was a teenager with a rifle who was killing everyone. The Marksman had splattered his brains down the communists back with bone splinters.
There was enough time to puke, get a friendly lecture and slight humor from a Sargent who told the Marksman if he got any puke in the flask, the Sargent would pull his noodle (cock) up to his top button.

With that the communists counter attacked and the Germans returned to their trenches with the reality that now over 1000 communists would now killed in the next few years by this one German sniper.

That is what is interesting in the Germans, in they only confirmed kills if a commander confirmed the kill. This Marksman would have confirmed something like 256 actual kills in the Gebrigsjagers or Mountain Troops, but in actual combat his perfect rate of fire averaged around 20 kills per Russian attack. It is never estimated how many communists this Marksman actually killed, but the Russians hated German Marksmen and would torture them when caught as they were that proficient.
This Austrian 19 year old was at this, in the thick of it every day from 1943 to the end of the war in 1945. I do believe that 1000 kills is on the low end, as some days the assaults were multiple waves, and these battles went on for five days. It is possible that he killed 200 communists in battle per week. These Austrians made those Russian Nagant rifles more lethal than the communists ever did.

In reading these German Austrians, they sound like Americans, as that is the shame in all of this as the majority of Americans have always been German Israelite and it was their identity, along with the Scot, French and Irish which predominantly produced thee American identity. That dry humor of rural America is not out of England. That is out of Germany.

General Patton was assassinated as he wanted to join his 3rd Army to these Landsers and drive past Moscow to destroy the communist menace. He understood the real threat, and that these Germans were of a mindset that Americans understood in thought processes as that is the people who built America from the farm up.
That would have been a glorious legion, with American industry, arming Patton's Germans and Germany's Landsers to slaughter the reds. It would have been lovely around August to have German U 235 obliterating Russian concentrations, to save Hiroshima and Nagasaki as the glowing communist would have illuminated the thoughts of the Emperor.

This though is not about a wonderful movie I would write and oversee for a Star Trek alternative, but about the first kill of a Marksman from puking to being comforted, in there is a vast difference between snipers and Marksmen.

The Best Rock Song Ever

I always thought something hinky went on at CBS in the history of the show WKRP in Cincinnati, which was a top 10 hit for CBS and was cancelled while it was in that bracket. It was a good natured people doing the right thing, whose first song played was Ted Nugent's Queen of the Forest, as DJ Dr. Johnny Fever said the word which got him banned from radio in "BOOGER".
Yes that era was quite different in what was sensible.

There is something though which always puzzled me in the closing credits as Jim Ellis belted out the hard rock lyrics in I never could quite figure out what the song was about, like The Hollies in Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress.

That is when I came across the real lyrics which were not lyrics at all. See Ellis wrote the music first without lyrics, and in order to perform it, he just sang whatever came to mind. Hugh Wilson who ran the show, thought it was perfect as most rock songs you could not figure out what was being screamed anyway and as CBS always had an announcer hawking another CBS program, there was not any sense in wasting time on creating a real song.

The Legend and Raquel Welch

This article starts out with the little photo above linked to a site about trivia. I knew it was Dick Cavet and after blowing it up, I knew this was Raquel Welch.

I rarely do things like this on this blog, but I am going to write about Raquel Welch in surprising you with how this successful woman built a career more outstanding, more far reaching and more stunning than any of the biggest names in show business from Katherine Hepburn to Betty Davis to Meryl Streep.

Nothing came easy for Jo Raquel Tejada, born the year before world war engulfed the earth, but in that people always think she is a Mexican, but her perfect grammar belies this Chicago born native. Her family is the source for the genius of this woman as her father, Armando Carlos Tejada Urquizo, was an aeronautical engineer born in Columbia while her mother, Josephine Sarah Hall, was the daughter of architect Emery Stanford Hall.
Yes Raquel Welch with her second husband Patrick Curtis seized upon her being marketed as a sex symbol, but behind that image was a great deal of genius.

Instead of marketing Raquel as a Latin, they instead chose to have her keep her first husband's name of Welch who was her high school sweetheart. When the studios tried to get her change her first name to Debbie, she refused as she wanted her real name, and the studios were wrong in people could remember and pronounce the name.

Raquel Welch became thee international sex symbol. She literally obliterated the Blonde Bombshell image which  Hollywood created and reached it's height in Marilyn Monroe. Fittingly, this Christian raised girl never did a nude scene, and as Hugh Hefner put it when she refused to appear nude in Playboy, "Some women do not need to be naked to be sexy".


She has had her ups and downs in life, and that is what makes her perseverance remarkable.  She made herself to be who she wanted, not a Hollywood stereotype. She had to work to support her two children in divorce as a cocktail waitress in Texas. She was blacklisted by the studios when they blamed her for troubles on a movie and she won in court over 10 million dollars from the jury.
All the way through this, Raquel Welch was always her own woman, and no one has ever said a bad thing about this professional.

Thee most beautiful woman in a generation and none of it ever went to her head as it would lesser souls.


I am going to diverge here to her acting performances as I still love the movie Hannie Caulder, where she plays a woman who is gang raped, learns to shoot a gun and tracks her rapists down and kills every one of them. For those who say Hollywood never has any good roles, those women never took on the roles that Raquel Welch did or Maureen O'Hara.

I submit that the best performance of Raquel Welch was her starring role in The Legend of Walks Far Woman.

This is the story of a Plains Indian named Walks Far Woman in her life. In reading the reviews of it, the Indians went nuts like they always do bitching about people not being Indian enough for something they dream up as Russell Means stands like a statue thinking that is a performance as he mumbled lines.

It stills stuns me that none of the executives got this made of television movie as they all hated it, but when it finally aired in America, it was the highest rated movie of the year on TV. That is the power of Raquel Welch in the actress and person she is. She drew in the audience and she held the audience for the full two hours.

Reception

The film aired in the UK in 1980. It was not screened in the US until 1982 because some NBC executives thought it was "a disaster". Brandon Tartikoff of NBC cut 25 minutes from the film before it aired.
The New York Times said "there is nothing dreadfully wrong with Miss Welch's performance... it's just that the entire story is boring."
It was the highest rated TV movie of the year

What is most poignant about this which pissed the Buck Indians off was Walks Far was married to a lazy ass, like most Indian males were. She was forced to go and hunt herself for food, on horse with a rifle as most Squaws had to do all the heavy lifting. When her husband beats her, she kills him and is then banished by the tribe.
The closing scene is she is befriended by Whites who tell her she has to have a White name as her life will be easier if she can pass as an American. To this Raquel Welch's character refuses and keeps stating even then in her helpless condition that she is Walks Far Woman.

That is in a great mirror image a testimony of the reflection of Raquel Welch who never gave up and is a good example of never giving up in the hardest of businesses.

She is always going to be one of my favorite stars, because she is a star. She held her own with the legends like Jimmy Stewart, John Wayne, Robert Culp, Ernest Borgnine and Frank Sinatra. Whatever makes a person a star, Raquel Welch is one of the few who has it in spades.

I would that Raquel Welch would have gotten better roles in film and television, or more to the point gotten the roles that other women ruined who were "Hollywood" liberals and casting couch.

I have no idea what political party Raquel Welch is, or what she thinks about all the nutty issues and I appreciate her adult self control in not imposing herself on the world. That shows her security in who she is a a woman and it is why she is one of the rarest of souls alive.

It simply is amazing to me that a woman could look as beautiful as she has her entire life. She still turns heads and every generation knows who she is as she has that snap which says, "Here am I, a star".

With that this post closes in celebration of someone who was as big off screen as she was on screen, by her determination and perseverance of just making something of her life which is admirable.

For those who stuck with this, here is your reward with the first picture in full size. Not many women could pull of wearing something like this and the word gorgeous comes to mind.
